I thought I’d write about the federal court ruling that said that *CF Trump’s tariffs are illegal. Which is a pretty big deal. Congress shouldn’t have let him do it in the first place, but we all know they totally suck right now. At least the courts are doing their job.
Then there’s the lawsuit over the federal government’s decision to gut research programs at the National Science Foundation. And Trump’s personal vendetta against Harvard. A lot of people have jumped on my theory that this has everything to do with Barron not being accepted there and nothing to do with Harvard’s policies. But that’s neither here nor there.
But the thing that seemed to float to the top of my what-to-write-about list today was something Trump posted on Truth Social. It’s an image of him in a black overcoat- he sort of looks like Darth Vader without the mask. The caption above the picture of him says, “He’s On a Mission From God.” And the caption below says, “& Nothing Can Stop What Is Coming.”
Um, what?
So Trump seems to think that he’s been sent by G-d to annoy the shit out of us and destroy our country. If that’s not delusional then I don’t know what is. Like he really needs to speak to a trained professional about this. Maybe meds would help.
Then the second part- is that a threat? What IS coming? Does he know? Does anyone know? Is he trying to scare us? Because honestly, I find a President with a Messiah complex terrifying.
This is what happens when you yes people to death. And you allow them to get away with everything. Not only does absolute power corrupt absolutely it also seems to make you cuckoo. For sure Trump is cuckoo- but that doesn’t mean he’s not dangerous.
Trump’s social media post looks like it could be an ad for an apocalyptic movie. I can imagine the trailer for it- “What happens when a President goes rogue and thinks he’s on a mission from G-d. Will he succeed in his plan for global domination? Or will the forces of good win? Coming July 4th- only in theaters.”
Honestly I feel like Trump has been watching too many movies from the Star Wars franchise. I couldn’t remember how it all ends so I just asked my family in the group thread and my middle son said that “No one (wins). The force is what it is. Balanced.”
Hmmm. I’m not sure I like that. I much prefer when the good guys have a decisive victory. At least Darth Vader dies- that part I remember. And I think that at the end he turns back to the light side by helping Luke. I don’t see that happening with Trump- I truly think he's beyond redemption.
The internet had this to say about how Star Wars concludes, “The ending depicts a renewed hope for the galaxy, with the Resistance celebrating…” Renewed hope- okay, that’s something. Right now I’d take a little renewed hope.
Maybe the lawsuit decisions are that renewed hope. Maybe on June 14th when hopefully millions take to the streets to protest Trump and his administration we find ourselves recharged. Remember, we need 3.5% of the population to show up. We need YOU.
Maybe Trump was just trying to look tough after the Financial Times called his tariffs the TACO Trade, short for Trump Always Chickens Out. He went a little bonkers when a reporter asked about the acronym saying to her, “Don’t ever say what you said… That’s a nasty question. To me that’s the nastiest question.” TACO trade, TACO Trade, TACO Trade.
If I wanted to be respected I wouldn’t be posting Darth Vader-like pictures on social media. I would be acting in a Presidential manner. Something that to Trump is as fantastical as Wookiees and Jedis.
*Convicted Felon
Sanctus cacas. Holy Shit in Latin.
This image, along with Mike Johnson's statement that he is praying for the Big Ugly Bill to pass, tells me that neither of these individuals are really Christians, because their God would definitely NOT approve!
