Trump's Bizarre Obsession With Obama

The other day Trump posted a bizarre side by side images of himself at 20 and Obama at 18 on Lie Social.
In the post Trump is wearing his school uniform- Obama is smoking a cigarette. Perhaps Trump was trying to show that he was in the military- (he wasn’t). Or that Obama was, I dunno, a degenerate because he was smoking a cigarette? Personally I’d rather have hung out with young Obama than young Trump but that’s neither here nor there. It’s hard to figure out what was going on in Trump’s Swiss-cheese brain when he posted those images.
Speaking of his Swiss-cheese brain, when asked about the housing bill by a reporter yesterday here is Trump’s actual, honest to G-d answer- (transcript courtesy of Jeff Tiedrich’s Substack)
“I don’t-know. I think it’s so-unimportant by compared to- by compared to the Save America Act, the housing bill is a bill that can get approved. They worked on it long and hard, it’s very bipartisan, that means Democrats like it. And it’s uhhhhhh- maybe-even-uhhh, it’s it’s probably maybe more that way, they’re getting things that I wouldn’t necessarily agree to. Nobody knows more about housing in the history of the presidency, nobody, nobody, no-well like me, in housing. I made a lot of-I made a lot of money, I made a lot of money with housing-“ Yes- he actually said that.
Guaranteed he doesn’t even know what’s in the Housing Bill- nor does he care.
When I listen to Obama speak, I want to cry. He is just so smart, so articulate, so funny, so cool, so everything that Trump is not. And that’s part of the reason Trump has hated him so deeply and for so long.
Back in 2011, Trump started the birther lie which falsely promoted the idea that Barack Obama was not born in the United States. Despite Obama releasing his birth certificate confirming his birth in Hawaii- Trump continued to push the lie for years. If you repeat a lie often enough some people will believe it. I knew one person who brought it up to me several times. As if maybe it were true. Why else would you mention it?
In September 2016 Trump finally acknowledged that Obama was indeed born in the US- he offered no apology but did say that Hillary Clinton was the one who started the rumor in 2008. I can’t even. And yet people still voted for that fucking asshole.
