I Have An Idea
Let's Try Something New
The situation with *CF Trump does not appear to be improving; rather, it feels like we are in free fall. The tanking economy, civil liberties being ignored, the slashing of programs for our most vulnerable citizens, etc. It’s a complete disaster.
I plan on continuing to write and call elected officials, protest, and whatever else I think will help.
But here’s an idea that was brought to me by one of my readers. Or did I think it up? No matter- either way, I think it’s a great plan.
Every night at 10:00 pm Eastern Time (which is my time here in New York), we have one minute of prayer. We all focus our thoughts on one thing.
Now, I’m not telling anyone what exactly to pray for. How specific you want to be in your own mind is entirely up to you. Like if you want to imagine you-know-who finally feeling the repercussions of a lifetime of eating cheeseburgers and getting no exercise (other than cheating at golf), fine. Or something to do with the Second Amendment- also fine.
Do I think prayers work? Hmmm- not sure. I do say a few prayers each day. One is the Modeh Ani- a Jewish prayer recited upon waking that expresses gratitude to G-d for restoring one’s soul. I also say the Shema before I go to sleep at night- it’s the prayer that affirms one’s belief in G-d. If you watch The Pitt, Dr. Robby (Noah Wylie) said the Shema during a particularly difficult moment a few weeks ago. Such a good show by the way.
It's possible I say those prayers out of habit. Or maybe I do believe. Either way, I know that praying can’t hurt.
I have seen prayer chains for someone who is sick. Again, does it help? Even if someone is not cured, it’s nice to know people are sending good thoughts.
What I’m proposing is just like a prayer chain to heal someone, only the opposite. Or maybe it’s not. We are trying to heal the United States.
I also feel like this might be a good time to invest in a voodoo doll. You can purchase them on Etsy- I assume the pins are included. I’m not exactly sure how voodoo magic works but sticking pins in a likeness of Trump sounds kind of satisfying.
We do this as a group at 10 pm every night. I will send reminders on my Facebook blog Thoughts From Aisle 4. I proposed this idea last night and got very enthusiastic responses.
If it works, we will have saved the United States and possibly the world. If it doesn’t, we will have one minute each night (or day depending on where you are) of imagining a fate for someone we all hate. I usually try not to use the word hate but Trump is one of those rare exceptions. Either way, we have nothing to lose.
I hope you’re in. We need as many people as we can get. Feel free to tell your non-MAGA friends our plan.
See you tonight.

Thanks to all of you for supporting my Substack. As of this morning, I’m #18 in the humor category. I’m not sure how difficult it is to get to #1 but I’m going to do my best!

I'm not a religious person, but I can ask Karma to step in and create some consequences for Felon 47 and his cult members.
