I read HCR's column last night as bedtime reading. YIKES. Of course everything that is happening now is disturbing and often keeps me awake well past my bedtime. I find myself watching endless HGTV just to keep my mind on "normal" reality TV, which we know is not that normal and not often "real", though it's fun to watch. Reality these days is overwhelming.

As for the 25 dumbest things Felon47 has ever said, that must have taken some serious consideration. Every time he opens his mouth these days, he's either reading some prepared remarks by Stephen Miller, or it's just complete word salad. I cringe whenever I hear his voice. I am so thankful for my mute button, but I fear I'm wearing it out.

Anyhow, Shabbat Shalom, take a break from the bad news. It will still be there when Shabbat is over.

HCR is brutally honest and I can't always read her. I'm just going to hide my head in the sand and try to survive.

The 25 Dumbest Things Donald Trump Ever Said.” I honestly don’t know how someone could narrow it down to only 25. 🤣🤣🤣 Oh my gosh that made me laugh OUT LOUD! Thanks mate, I needed that❣️

We need to remember that the flood of horrific news is specifically meant to overwhelm us reasonable folks. I agree we need to step back now and then, but we must not step away permanently. That's what they're hoping for, and I refuse to do that. I even updated my personal Facebook page with my pronouns after the Convicted Felon decreed federal employees had to remove them from their communications. It's not much, but even small acts of defiance add up. Don't piss off the older women! We have already fought many battles, and I am damn sure I'm not going back.

Sadly we’ve already gone back

Not me. I will argue and defy to my dying day, if that's what it takes.

HCR is a national treasure, a hero, even. But I’m also feeling the need to unplug and will be spending tomorrow with my baby grandson.

I have taken a break from the news since NOV. 6th, the day following the disaster which has befallen my (?) country. Occasional local snippets only...anything national & its OFF! I can bear to read the NPR newsletter & scan quickly the unbearable & move on. I like the puzzle on Fridays,

Shabbat shalom my friend. I watch Elisbeth late at night when I have found sleep nearly impossible. I absolutely love it to the point that I tend to binge watch. Problem is it doesn’t make me sleepy as I had hoped it would, and sooner or later, the series will stop. Guess it’s my age catching up with me. My brain hasn’t slowed down for a restful night for awhile.

My only real consolation is that I don’t believe Cheeto will live through a full term. Not sure if JD will be any better. In the meantime, I will ignore that, as my daughter and I have plans to “Sail Away” on March 7 for a fun filled weekend on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I have no plans to get off the ship at either port because cruising puts me in my happy place and I have no desire to get back on land. I might possibly be persuaded to try some key lime pie in Nassau and pick up a fridge magnet but that’s about it.

Shabbat Shalom 🌹. I'm still not watching news, just what I get here and if I'm on Instagram which I haven't been on too much ,I get enough with you. I can't believe none of this. But please listen to Marlene and write your Senator & Congress people.... I have gotten responses which made me feel good and I'm sure our politicians are just as happy to see us helping in the fight. We got an army here so let's fight . Have a wonderful safe, warm weekend ♥️

I think we are all feeling a bit battered right now. I keep a card on my breakfast table where I wrote some affirmations. "I will not give into the fear.I will not give into the lies. I will not give into the hate." and the quote by Heather Cox Richardson " A joyful population cannot be conquered." I continue to call my senators and my representative every day even if my senators are on the side of the CF.They still have to record my calls. The fact that musk has staged a coup and they are not saying anything about it is appalling-to say the least. Little Marco tried to say that Panama was letting all USA ships transit the canal for free and Panama called out his lie right away. So don't give up hope-we are on the winning side.
