I’m hoping there is a 4 ft blizzard in DC on 1/20. No one can come. Just him and his trophy wife. Biden can skip it.

Totally agree about news, especially CNN. Turned it off Nov. 6 and haven't been back. I read the news daily, but basically draw the line at "pundits." If an opinion or an arguement or blame is offered, I'm done. The silence was hard at first, but I've been listening to music, and am getting happier with silence. In the car, it's books on tape--or whatever that is called now.

Don't forget to add Man On The Inside on Netflix to your viewing list.

I haven't been watching the news all this year and apparently that will continue.

Most of the media seemed to give he who shall not be named a pass. I will not forget that.

I finished man on the inside in two nights bc I loved it so much! And no, we won’t forget

Did you know that Marlene's books make good Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa gifts? Forgive me if I missed any holidays/celebrations. Buy the whole set for a favorite person. Think ahead to hostess gifts. Make someone a nice hygge basket...a good book (One of Marlene's 😉), a soft blankie, chocolate, a nice mug and a drink of (insert a fav here). Need any Secret Santa gifts...books (these) are always a great gift. Belong to a book club...one of Marlene's books would make for fun discussions. 😊

I highly recommend Marlene's books, having read and heartily laughed my way through all three! Her last one I was reading on a flight home and had a most difficult time trying to squelch out loud raucous laughter. They will definitely make you feel good. Thanks so much, Marlene.💓🇮🇱💙

I agree with you completely Marlene. I have stopped watching the news. I too have had enough of him for a thousand lifetimes. I may never return to my pre-election tv news viewing. I’m very much in a wait and see mode. As ever, thank you Marlene for writing what the rest of us are thinking & feeling. Well, those of us in the wonderful community of Thoughts from Aisle Four that you’ve created. Thanks mate! 💕💕💕

I watch my local 6pm and 10pm news. I will keep up with my local news, weather, and sports. They do breeze over 5 minutes or so of national news and that's enough for me to decide to seek further info if I want. And on Mondays I do watch Rachel Maddow and Nicole Wallace on MSNBC.

Only watch Sunday football which is ending soon. I don't even watch TV anymore, right there with you. Tired of the lies and fed up with 🎃. As long as my son and grandchildren are fine and of course You and your family the rest of the world can go to beep .

Right there with you. I can't get to the remote fast enough when news comes on. The opening story is always some BS related to him or his cult leaders. Like you, I have seen and heard enough of him to last forever and a day!!!

I really like your definition of gone. Snicker.

Yep! Right there with you! Also have read and LOVED your books and highly recommend them to put a smile on your face. Honestly I would lose my sanity if I listened to or read the news these next four years. I’m choosing to live in my own beautiful reality!

Ty! And we can live in that reality together

I will not be watching the inaugeration on Jan.20th. I hope the crowd is even smaller than it was the first go round. I agree about the media. They need to get back to caring about reporting the news and not the sound bites/ratings. Maybe watch some reruns of Walter Cronkite to get an idea about what good reporting looks like.

Getting all my news from trusted Substackers (like you!) and Bluesky (I was never a Twitter user, but this seems like a good way to follow trusted journalists and public figures.)
